My experience at Fred Beans Hyundai was a bit of a rollercoaster, but ultimately ended on a positive note. I was initially very happy with the Honda Civic Si I purchased and appreciated the friendly service I received. However, things got complicated with the paperwork. There were some significant issues with the titling and registration, which required numerous phone calls and a Google review on my part to get their attention. Thankfully, after some persistence, the dealership did step up and resolve the problem. While the initial issues were frustrating, I'm now satisfied with my car and appreciate that Fred Beans Hyundai eventually took responsibility and corrected their mistakes. It wasn't a perfect experience, but they did make things right in the end.

I never experienced such a stressless time buying a car. Fred Beans Hyundai of Flemington was amazing!!! Salesman Jeff A is the kindest, truly a patient honest and trustworthy salesman. My partner and I had the best experience buying our used car from here! We were able to apply online the night before, and were approved by the morning. We knew exactly what the terms to the loan would be once we got there so all we had to do was test drive and sign some paperwork. Our associate, Shawn Feeney was extremely friendly and personable and made us feel right at home. We were able to leave with the car in less than 2 hours. The entire process was extremely easy, painless, and transparent. We will only be buying our cars from here from now on. It was well worth the 90 minute drive from the city!

In a day and age when more and more dealers are realizing that they are the worst part of the car buying experience, many have switched to be more transparent, honest, and upfront with their practices. Unfortunately, Fred Beans Hyundai in Flemington is not one of them.

As someone who needed to purchase two cars within a few months (original + replacement after original was totaled in an accident), I was able to compare two very different buying experiences.

For the original purchase at another "traditional" dealership, everything was smooth, the price was transparent, and there were no hard sells or added fees snuck into the purchase price. I was able to return at a scheduled appointment, complete the financing paperwork, and be on my way in less than 45 minutes.

For the purchase of the replacement vehicle through Fred Beans Hyundai of Flemington, this was not the case. Either from the start, or at some point during the price negotiation process, Fred Beans Hyundai of Flemington added in a dealer markup of $300 for the "Silent Security Package", which I admittingly did not notice until later that night. The salesman also told me I would receive back nearly all of my registration fee I needed to pay once my state had processed the registration, which ultimately proved to be inaccurate as I received a refund for less than half of this amount six weeks after purchase.

When I attempted to call my salesman the next day to ask about removing the "Silent Security" package from the car since we were waiting to sign the final paperwork for a few more days, the salesman did not answer the call but instead texted back that he couldn't remove the package since the stickers, yes - this package is simply some stickers placed around the perimeter of the car, had already been applied to the vehicle. Unfortunately, this turned out to be a straight up lie, which ruined any credibility I may have had with the Beans family of dealerships moving forward since I watched the salesman apply the decals to the car out front from my seat at his desk more than a week after this discussion while I waited more than an hour past my scheduled appointment time to sign the financing paperwork. To their credit, the finance manager I worked with tried to be as efficient as he could once I finally got into his office at least 75 minutes past my appointment time, but did make multiple mistakes during the process of writing up the documents which each had to be caught by me, corrected, and reprinted adding even more to the overall time required to complete the transaction.

Why the salesman felt the need to lie about something that changes the purchase price by less than 1% is a mystery to me, but if they are willing to lie about something that small, why would you trust them on larger items? He could have just been honest when I asked and said sorry, we already have a deal in place since you put down a nonrefundable deposit on the car rather than taking the low road.

In comparing my two purchases at different dealerships, Fred Beans Hyundai of Flemington also has a particularly large Documentation Fee they used of ~$600 compared to the ~$100 I paid at the other dealership when I purchased my original vehicle. To me, this seems like another way they are still playing old tactics of overcharging for simple items and further proof they are behind on where customers would like to see the purchase experience moving towards.

I realize this review is terribly long now, but after a few months, I still felt like it was important to share my true experience with this dealership, especially when compared to similar alternatives in the area.

The quick summary is it's certainly possible to purchase a vehicle from Fred Beans Hyundai of Flemington at a good price, but don't expect honesty from your sales team and definitely expect they will still try to stuff your purchase with junk markups and add-ons. While this maximizes their profit on day 1 of the sale, in my case it also cost them any future service visits or referrals from friends or family.

Had a great experience at this dealership. From the start, everyone was really friendly and made me feel right at home. Big shoutout to Shawn – he really went out of his way to make the whole process smooth and easy. He was really helpful, answered all my questions, and made sure everything was set up just the way I wanted. I’m really happy with my car and the deal I got. I recommend purchasing vehicle from Fred Beans. All staff are friendly and helpful. They are treating you with respect and integrity throughout the whole process. I need to highlight Brendon and Jeffs work along with the finance manager. Servicing is a breeze. The service department ensures that your car is protected throughout the service. Your car will get delivered to you in a better condition than when you handed it over for service.

Have had a recall service completed on my vehicle. Both parts changed and my vehicle didn't get damaged, and my vehicle got better. Service completed on time.
