Terrible Experience at Kia of Alhambra

On August 20, 2024, I dropped off my Kia Sorento Hybrid for routine service at Kia of Alhambra. Hours later, I was informed that their employee crashed another vehicle into mine on their lot, causing $7,700 in damages. They insisted on filing an insurance claim against my wishes, which diminished my car's value.

Despite promises from the Director of the Services Dept. of updates, documentation, and fair treatment--including compensation for the loss of value--I received none of it. My calls (over 20 between August and November) and voicemails went unanswered. It took 6 weeks to repair my car, with ZERO communication.

Since then, I've made countless attempts to discuss compensation. Still, Kia of Alhambra has ignored me completely. We're now filling with small claims court as a last resort.

This level of negligence and disregard for their customers is unacceptable. Proceed with caution if you choose to trust them with your vehicle.

Shout out the financier Jose and Gustavo the sale person for helping us out with the process of getting my first ever car!!! Especially as a first timer! They were both really patient and very understanding and helpful overall! Jose the person who helped me with the finance etc. was very understanding when it came to answering my questions! Thanks to Gustavo as well who helped me with finding the perfect car for me! Also very patient and good vibes all around! I had a great experience overall.

Worst experience ever with the most horrible service at KIA of Alhambra, California service department!
DO NOT bring your cars to this place for any kind of service!

I had typed up most details in about 4 pages, but could not have enough to fit here! Contact me if need the details.
Brought in car on Jul 08, picked up on Aug 13.......................

Mon. Aug 05, insurance adjuster Miguel did get the email with the complete info/evidence, so he approved & replied right away.
Tue. Aug 13 we got call from Nanthan that car was ready, so I asked wife to call him back & let him know that we would try to get the car that afternoon before 5 pm or so. I had to take off from work earlier to go home to pick up wife and go to this dealership to pick up our 2023 KIA Sportage; when Nathan pulled the car into the dealership’s service department parking lot where we were awaiting, we saw all 4 windows were down when he was driving in…. Nathan’s attitude was just simply like he was going to release the car to us, wasn’t going to explain or show us anything, I had to ask him to show us & popped the hood open….!! Not only that, the car was so DIRTY, full of dust, a thick layer of it, including INSIDE the car on the dashboard!!!! You would think that after a $7000 + repaired bill, they should at least clean & wash the car, but NO, nothing like that, plus inside the car….?!!!! They MUST had left the windows down all this time when the car was there, otherwise, inside the car would not have been this dirty with a layer of dust and/or who knows what other possible chemical dust that there may be in there!!!!
Serious complaint about this dealership’s service department, and we would like to WARN all other people to NOT to try their luck to bring their cars to this place!! We will post this on all places & send to BBB (Better Business Bureau), (but BBB only limited 2000 words of complaint on their site), we’ll also ask all our friends & family to post and share the post out!!

We found a scratch on the car, so Aug 14 wife had sent email to Nathan to check, because Nathan took some photos of the car with the tablet at the time when I brought the car in.... Of course, we never got any response back....!

I purchased a new Kia Forte in May of this year and have spent the last couple of months getting it fixed up. The dealership at Kia of Alhambra has been helpful towards this end, with deluxe floor mats, interior accessories, and a new spare key. The office staff is pleasant, this service staff is knowledgeable and helpful, and I'd like to give a special shout out to Jose in the parts department who demonstrates extra care and concern for kiss customers going above and beyond the regular call of duty every time I've interacted with him. If you're in the market for a new and affordable yet dependable and stylish car, check these guys out; you'll be surprised how clean and modern the new models look, and the service is excellent!

My husband and I came to this dealership to purchase a car. Wow! Very pleased with how the over all experience was trustworthy, efficient and to the point. Wayne and Luis (finance manager) did an excellent job, truly. We do not live nearby at all but we would not hesitate to come back to this dealership to purchase another vehicle. I hope management knows what great employees they have!

I am writing this review to say THANK YOU to Kia of Alhambra for our family’s recent purchase of a 2024 Kia Telluride!!! We are COMPLETELY SATISFIED with our purchase and HIGHLY RECOMMEND not only this vehicle but also this location for your next purchase!!! The following is our story:
We went in for a visit on July 16 and the sales representative Darwin assisted us in show casing all the vehicles that were in display at the site. He had exceptional customer service, and although he was assisting other buyers he was intentional in making a space for us last minute.

We decided to return on July 17, but found out it was his day off and the sales representative Elena Monsalvo assisted us in show casing the vehicles that were in display and was very knowledgable on all the vehicles. She permitted us to test drive different cars and provide the upmost customer service, she was extremely helpful in assisting us to make the best decision in purchaing the telluride for our family. She was friendly, patient, communicative and answered all our questions. We had a great experience with her and her sales manager who was opend and we were able to close a great deal. Also, have to mention the finance department was remarkable, transparent and informative throughout the process. Thank you to all the Team for a marvelous experience!!!

Gustavo was a great salesman. We couldn’t be more grateful with the service he provided. He was friendly and knowledgeable. We received a quote before going to the dealership. Once at the dealership, the quote was exactly as stated. We were leaving with our new vehicle within two hours. This was truly a wonderful experience. Highly recommended!

This is not a good dealership to go to for service.

The first time I came here, I needed my brakes looked at and replaced. They told me it would be done in about 2 hours, so I give them 3 hours and when I get there, then they tell me my car is done and ready. Great. After an hour of my car not showing up, I have to wade through a lack of employees in sight and nobody cares at all that you obviously need to ask about your car. They just keep walking past you and point you to someone else. Eventually someone tells me that my car will be out in 20 minutes. Another hour passes. I have to ask again and they say that it will be out in an hour. MORE HOURS PASS until I finally have to beg one of the service guys to let me know where my car is. He realizes that I've been waiting all day for my car at this point and apologizes and brings it out finally. He writes a note on my receipt to give me a free oil change (but I never get my oil changed there anyway). But fine, it was just one time, I'll give it another shot.

The second time I came here, it was because my car had been broken in to on Decermber 23rd and my ignition was broken. A week later, they let me know my car is ready when I'm on a work trip. My work trip precluded me from being able to pick it up and eventually they have a manager call me who accuses me of lying when I PHYSICALLY CANNOT pick up my car because I was 2500 miles away. I had told him that I should be able to pick it up in two days (which is not something that I had told anyone from the dealership when they had previously called - I had always told them that I was out of town). So give me one good reason why when I say that I'll be able to pick it up in two days that you would accuse me of lying when I told you that the $2500 is fine and that I would be able to pick it up?

And when I went to pick up my car, the cashier was very snooty with me and outright ignoring me when I was asking her a question. And then they had to hunt for my key because my service advisor was apparently holding on to it, whereas another person who came after me was immediately able to pick up her car because her keys were kept readily available for any service advisor to send her on her way.

I've only been met with terrible service and treatment at this location so I would recommend going ANYWHERE other than here. This place is in dire need of new management and workers that recognize customers who are trying to ask a question.

To be honest, between this kind of service and the prevalence of theft due to the Kia Boyz and Kia's overall inaction to the easiness of break-ins, it makes makes a strong case for dropping Kia altogether.
